Saving Andy: how an AI heart-scan saved this Deerhound’s life
“Andy,” a four-year-old Deerhound, had already been diagnosed with a serious heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy (a proper mouthful), along with an irregular rhythm that makes the heart beat out of sync. He was also slightly underweight at the time of his scan, which can sometimes happen in dogs with long-term heart disease. As Andy was on medication to control his arrhythmia (i.e. his heart’s irregular rhythm), all seemed under control.
