By using the Sonus Health App — whether to monitor your own health or your dog’s health — you agree to the collection and use of your personal and pet-related data as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Data We Collect
When you use the App, we may collect the following types of data:
(a) Personal Information (Provided by You)
- Name, email address, and account details (if applicable).
- Device information (e.g., smartphone model, operating system).
- Animal / Pet / Dog Details: breed, age, weight, sex, name, medical history, identifiers and other pet health profile information that you provide.
(b) Health & Sound Data (Generated by the App)
- Heart sound recordings and audio files collected from your smartphone microphone, animal or human.
- Heart rate (HR), heart rate variability (HRV), and other extracted wellness-related data, animal or human.
- App interaction data, such as session length and feature usage.
(c) Automatically Collected Information
- Log data (e.g., IP address, device identifiers, timestamps).
- General analytics on app performance and user behavior.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data and any data relating to your animals (e.g., dogs) strictly for the following purposes:
- Providing App Services — Processing heart sound recordings, generating insights, and displaying wellness data.
- App Improvements & AI Training — We may anonymize and aggregate data to train and improve our AI and machine learning models. This helps us enhance future analysis capabilities while ensuring your personal information remains protected.
- Technical Support & Security — Detecting and preventing fraud, improving system security, and fixing bugs.
- Legal Compliance — Complying with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Access
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We may only share your data with third parties under the following circumstances:
(a) With Your Explicit Consent
- If we introduce new features requiring external services, we will request your consent before sharing data.
- If integration with a medical or veterinarian’s health record system or pet/animal/human clinic services is added, we will request your explicit consent before sharing any data.
(b) Legal & Safety Requirements

- If necessary to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security breaches, or technical issues.
(c) Service Providers & AI Training Partners (Anonymized Data Only)
- We may share fully anonymized and aggregated data — including aggregated animal or human health and heart sound data — with trusted partners to improve AI models and refine wellness insights. This data cannot be traced back to individual users.
4. How We Protect Your Data
We implement industry-standard security measures, including:
- Encryption — All sensitive data is encrypted during transmission and storage.
- Access Control — Only authorized personnel can access limited portions of de-identified data.
- Anonymization — Any data used for AI training or research is stripped of personally identifiable information (PII).
Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. You use the App at your own risk.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain data only as long as necessary for:
- Providing the App’s services.
- Improving AI models and system performance.
- Meeting legal compliance requirements.
User-Controlled Deletion: You can request deletion of your or your animal’s data at any time by contacting us at support@sonus.health. However, anonymized data already used for AI training cannot be erased since it is no longer linked to individual users.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain privacy rights, including:
- Access & Review — Request a copy of your personal data or your animal’s data.
- Correction — Request updates to inaccurate information.
- Deletion — Request removal of personal data or your animals’ data from our active databases.
- Opt-Out of AI Training — You may opt out of your data being used for AI model training by contacting us.

7. Children’s Privacy
The Sonus Health App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover that a minor has provided personal data, we will immediately delete such information.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If changes occur, we will notify users via the App or email. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
If in future we expand or refine features for monitoring animals, we will notify users and explicitly update how we treat animal data.

It is intended for general wellness purposes. The app is not a medical device.

A normal or unremarkable result from the Sonus Health App does not guarantee the absence of any medical condition. Likewise, any flagged potential irregularities should be followed up on by visiting a healthcare provider.
